Marimekko’s colourful prints will feature on selected Samsung products as part of its new collaboration with the Korean technology giant.

The limited-edition partnership brings Marimekko’s iconic Unikko flower pattern to various Samsung Galaxy phone accessories, such as earbud cases, phone covers and watch wristbands. Unikko, designed by Maija Isola, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

In addition, over 40 designs from the Finnish fashion house are made available as artwork for Samsung’s picture-frame TV, The Frame. The offering comprises curated images and three seasonally rotating collections.

“Our vision with this partnership is to deliver timeless designs directly to users, allowing them to personalise their homes with a touch of Finnish creativity,” said Sofia Monteiro, product manager for Samsung Art Store Europe. “We hope to continue bringing value to our appreciated users through this selection of iconic designs and tasteful prints.”

The artwork comes from designers Isola, Fujiwo Ishimoto, Katsuji Wakisaka, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi and Maija Louekari, who are behind some of Marimekko’s best-known prints.

Marimekko and UNIQLO have teamed up on several collections since 2018.

The partnership is the latest in a series of big-name collaborations Marimekko has announced in recent years with the likes of German sportswear brand adidas, Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO and Swedish retail giant IKEA.

Marimekko has stated its focus is on scaling and growing its business, particularly in international markets. In 2023, the company entered new markets and established a physical and digital presence in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
