Finnish startups to scale healthier food, smarter batteries, life-tracking apps and IT automation

Finnish startups secured over 20 million euros to accelerate growth in food tech, energy, digital wellbeing and enterprise IT.

Four Finnish startups – Perfat Technologies, CeLLife, Time Atlas Labs and ONEiO – have raised over 20 million euros to scale innovations in food tech, energy, digital wellbeing and enterprise IT.

Finland’s startup scene continues to gather momentum, with innovative companies attracting international attention and investment. In just the past weeks, four ventures across food tech, energy, digital wellbeing and enterprise IT have secured more than 20 million euros combined.

Their breakthroughs – from healthier alternatives to saturated fats to AI-powered battery diagnostics – highlight the diversity and global ambition of Finland’s innovation ecosystem.

Perfat Technologies raises EUR 2.5M to scale their healthy fats alternative

Perfat’s solution reduces calories by up to 30% and adds dietary fibre, offering a healthier and more sustainable alternative without compromising taste or functionality.

Perfat Technologies

Perfat Technologies, a Finnish food deep-tech startup, has raised 2.5 million euros in a Series A round to scale the production of healthier fat substitutes. The round was co-led by Newtree Impact and Beyond Impact, with continued support from Nordic Science Investments, University of Helsinki Funds, and Big Idea Ventures.

Perfat’s core innovation is a proprietary oleogel: a method to convert liquid vegetable oils into solid or semi-solid fats that mimic the functional properties of saturated fats like butter, palm oil, or coconut oil – but with significantly improved nutritional and environmental profiles. Its fibre-reinforced gelled vegetable oil enables food manufacturers to replace traditional solid fats without sacrificing texture or performance in finished products.

“We aim to grow rapidly, transform the food industry, and create a healthier future for millions of consumers worldwide,” said Jyrki Lee-Korhonen, CEO of Perfat Technologies. “For us, substituting traditional solid fats is not just about innovation, it’s about caring for people’s health, helping manufacturers adopt sustainable solutions, and reshaping the way the world thinks about fats.”

CeLLife nets EUR 2.5M EIC grant plus EUR 6M co-investment to scale battery diagnostics

With the fresh funding, CeLLife plans to broaden its partnerships across the battery value chain, expand operations in Europe, North America and Asia, and strengthen its team.

CeLLife

CeLLife Technologies, a deep-tech spin-off from Tampere University, has secured a 2.5 million euro grant plus up to 6 million euros in co-investment from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator programme to accelerate commercialisation and international growth of its battery diagnostics technology.

CeLLife’s key innovation is the Electrical Fingerprint (EFP) platform, an AI-driven diagnostic tool capable of analysing thousands of data points in seconds. This enables manufacturers and recyclers to detect early failures, optimise performance, extend battery life, and improve yield.

The technology supports European strategies for cleaner energy and the circular economy, addressing the need for more efficient and sustainable use of batteries.

“This recognition from the EIC is a strong validation of our vision and technology,” said Roni Luhtala, CEO and co-founder of CeLLife. “It allows us to accelerate our growth and bring our diagnostic platform to customers who are seeking smarter and more sustainable battery solutions.”

Time Atlas Labs raises EUR 1.8M to help people track and learn from life’s moments

Led by CEO Aapo Kyrölä (centre), Time Atlas Labs secured 1.8 million euros to grow its privacy-first life-tracking app.

Time Atlas Labs

Time Atlas Labs, a Finnish startup founded in 2024 by Aapo Kyrölä, Markus Stenberg and Juho Pennanen, has raised 1.8 million euros in growth funding led by Lifeline Ventures, with participation from angel investors including Duolingo co-founder Severin Hacker and Linear’s Tuomas Artman.

The round will support further development of the company’s Active Life Tracking app and help grow its user base.

The Time Atlas app builds a private timeline that connects activities, places and personal notes, giving users a holistic view of their lives. Unlike tools focused on single aspects such as fitness or sleep, the platform helps people revisit key events, reflect on decisions and uncover meaningful patterns.

Privacy is a central principle for the company: no data is shared with third parties unless the user explicitly chooses to. This focus aims to set Time Atlas apart in a market where personal data is often treated as a commodity.

“This takes all of these moments and lets people see connections between their actions and use them to understand themselves,” said Aapo Kyrölä, CEO and co-founder of Time Atlas Labs.

ONEiO raises EUR 8M to make manual IT integrations obsolete with IntegrationOps

ith Juha Berghäll at the helm, ONEiO raised 8 million euros to scale its IntegrationOps model and replace manual IT integrations.

ONEi0

ONEiO, an automation-first platform based in Helsinki, has raised 8 million euros in a growth funding round led by Bocap, with participation from existing investor Fairpoint Capital. The investment will be used to advance the company’s IntegrationOps-as-a-Service model, expand into the UK and DACH regions, and make key hires to support international scaling.

ONEiO’s platform reimagines IT integrations by shifting from project-based work to a continuously managed service. Its IntegrationOps model treats integrations as core infrastructure, aiming to reduce complexity in enterprise IT environments while increasing scalability and resilience.

The company believes its approach is particularly relevant in the AI era, where rapid adaptability and automation are becoming mandatory rather than optional for large organisations.

“For decades, integrations have been built as one-off projects: expensive, brittle, and impossible to scale,” said Juha Berghäll, CEO and co-founder of ONEiO. “With IntegrationOps, we’ve turned them into an ongoing capability that runs without manual work. In the AI era, this isn’t optional – it’s the only way to keep up.”
